L.G.R is venturing into uncharted territory with its first sports-geared collection of performance-heavy sunglasses retaining the effortless elegance integral to the brand’s DNA. The exclusive lineup of sports-inflected frames stems from the friendship between L.G.R’s founder Luca Gnecchi Ruscone with car builder, collector and race car driver Eugenio Amos and Carlo Borromeo, the creative force behind the Studio Borromeo De Silva design and technology studio.

Marking the first time that L.G.R employs an 8-base curve to achieve the wraparound, enveloping style emblematic of the collection, the model, aptly called BASE 8, represents the brand’s foray into performance-imbued sunglasses. Debuting in a limited edition to celebrate the partnership and in tandem with the launch of Eugenio Amos’ latest car design, the Lancia Delta Safarista by Automobili Amos, the hero piece is a glossy Havana style complemented by polarized gold mirror lenses.

Channeling its technical know-how and pushing its artisanal craftsmanship to new heights, L.G.R has embedded premium features, from tempered mineral glass lenses to offer the sharpest clarity of vision thanks to their mix of light-filtering rare-earth elements, to infrared blocking treatments, side air vents reminiscent of car designs and rubberized temple sleeves and nose pads.
